2nd Personal Tale 2

So, I decided to make another personal tale that actually is more of a personal tale. I'm keeping my original one on the blog because it's something I'm planning on adapting for a class assignment. If you haven't been to Scotland you should go- soon!

Personal Tale Rubric

Here is the rubric I created for a personal tale:

Personal Tale 2

I'm not really sure if this qualifies as a personal tale; however, because the topic covers some of my favorite books, it does have some personal element to it, at least.

This was my first time using Animoto. I tried to include a short video too, but I kept getting an error message when I tried to add it. If I was a better photographer, several of the photos would have been a little more professional looking (without glare and other people's body parts, for example), but at least most of the titles are legible. Overall though, it was a fairly easy program to use for my basic video. I'm sure there are plenty of ways to make all sorts of impressive products using Animoto, but for the classroom, I think I could use something like this to introduce classes that come to the library to my favorites and then have them make something similar, either as a class or on their own. I am still formulating how to use Animoto in my final technofied lesson.

Big 6 Presentation

I had never used Prezi before. Manipulating the fields to work and look the way I wanted them to seemed like it took longer than it should have. I suppose with practice that becomes easier. Overall, inserting videos was easy and the end product seems a little flashier than a Powerpoint.  I chose to just cover the basics of the Big6 research method that is the basis for most of the our state's K-12 information literacy/library media content standards.

PSA

One of our tech teachers suggested I try WeVideo, so I did. The ending is sort of abrupt and I need to figure out how to get rid of the swishing paper sound. This PSA about reading is based off a Scholastic poster we have displayed in our library.

"Whiteboard" Lesson

I tried out our school's Newline Interactive tv for this lesson. These devices are pretty fancy and will probably be replacing our Promethean boards in the next few years. I couldn't get rid of all of the glare even with different camera angles, lighting, and settings, but I tried!
